Blind Pipe Flange is used whenever a line must be capped of at a flange. It is good practice to install blind pipe flange at the end od header or at location where future tie-ins are anticipated.
Blind pipe flanges are also used extensively for manways, in which case a davit is recommended for ease in handling the unbolted manway cover.
Blind pipe flange is specified by ANSI B16.47.

Product Features:
Blind Flanges are well suited for high temperature and pressure applications. manufactured without a bore, Blind Flanges are used to blank off the ends of pipes, valves and pressure vessel openings.

Slip on Flange is essentially a ring that is placed over the pipe end, with the flange face extending from the end of the pipe by enough distance to apply a weld bead on the inside diameter.
The OD of slip on flange is also welded on the back side of the flange. Slip on flanges have a lower material cost than weld neck flange and are more easily aligned.
Slip on flange may also be used a lap joint flanges if Type B or Type C stub ends are used.

Product Features:

Slip On Flanges are popular low-cost flange type for low pressure applications. The flange simply slides onto the pipe where two fillet welds, one on the outside and the other on the inside, seal and fasten the connection.

RFWN Flange (Raise Face Weldneck Flange) are easy to recognize. They include a long tapered hub that gradually meets the wall thickness from the pipe or fitting.
The long tapered hub of RFWN Flange provides an important reinforcement for use in several applications involving high pressure, sub-zero and / or elevated temperatures. In conditions of repeated bending, caused by line expansion or other variable forces, the smooth transition from flange thickness to pipe or fitting wall thickness is extremely beneficial.
RFWN Flange is bored to match the inside diameter of the mating pipe or fitting so there will be no restriction of product flow. This prevents turbulence at the joint and reduces erosion. They also provide excellent stress distribution through the tapered hub and are easily radiographed for flaw detection. Weldneck flange is welded to a pipe or fitting with a single full penetration, V weld (Buttweld).

Product Features:
Weld Neck Flanges include a long tapered hub that aid in reinforcement and provide temperature / pressure resistance. Bored to match the inside diameter of the mating pipe or fitting, these flanges are directly welded to the end of the pipe.
